Aquasim, following the takeover, under privatization in 2005 by the group SIM, of the EPEM units of Mouzaïa and Ben haroun de Bouira, currently encompasses the only two naturally sparkling mineral water sources throughout the Algerian territory.
Located 45 km west of Algiers in the Province of Blida, the source of Mouzaïa was discovered by a settler, Mr. LEBLANC. Its exploitation for commercial purposes began in 1949 under the name “Source LEBLANC”.
The source of Mineral Waters of Ben Haroun discovered by the Major Physician BERTRAND around 1856, began to be industrially exploited only in 1883 following its concession by the state.
Both have invaluable therapeutic virtues established by leading specialists.
Today, a vast modernization plan has been launched for the development of the two companies that has affected both production and marketing.
Established at the industrial area of Blida, the La Mitidja Industrial Conservatory, formerly ENAJUC, was created in 1974 and became operational on March 25, 1975. Its main activity is the processing of fruits and vegetables. It was taken over by SIM Group in 2007 and thus becomes the third unit of the subsidiary.
The merger of these three units was carried out in 2010 to form the Mineral Waters Subsidiary, Juices and preserves called AQUASIM.
The current workforce of the subsidiary is 922 agents. The goal is to reach a staff of 1,052 agents for 2013
